Most water heaters the temperature is set to high, there is no reason to have it hot enough to scald your skin. If you set the temperature down about 8 degrees you will save on an average of $35.00 a month. The access panel in the front of the heater is held on by one hex head screw and once removed you will see a square box with a little dial in the middle, if you look close you will see numbers above the dial turn it counter clockwise about A 1/8 of an inch and then replace cover.
